Working out the going rate for a VA in Texas can be confusing, since rates stretch from $5 an hour all the way to $45, depending on where the assistant is based.
Virtual assistants based outside the U.S. typically run in the $5-$15/hr range, VAs based stateside usually land between $15 and $35 an hour, and specialized or senior VAs can run well above $25/hr. What actually drives the price is location and how specialized the work is.
Something easy to overlook is whether you're hiring a freelancer directly or hiring through a dedicated placement agency. The hourly rate looks here lower going direct, but an agency rate usually already covers vetting and a replacement if something falls through.
